ACCOUNTING CLERK
The Accounting Clerk is a full-time position at Temple Emanuel.
Regular Work Hours
Full salaried position during regular business hours.

The Accounting Clerk position is an integral part of the professional team working toward that mission, serving in an accounting and financial operational capacity to the Congregation.
The Accounting Clerk will work directly for and with the Controller in maintaining and managing the accounting aspects of Temple Emanuel operations. This position will be varied and at times a fast-paced environment. In addition to regular daily, weekly and monthly accounting and bookkeeping functions, assistance with other congregational activities and tasks may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Review invoices for accuracy.
- Code and enter payables into accounting system.
- Process and mail checks.
Accounts Receivable
- Enter cash receipts into member management software or accounting system.
- Deposit checks and cash in bank.
- Reconcile cash receipts to bank.
- Send out monthly statements to members.
- Answer calls from members regarding their accounts.
- Answer phone calls, messages and questions from the Congregants and members.
- Answering phones at front desk on a semi-regular basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements for Staff Accountant Position
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Experience with QuickBooks accounting software.
- Understanding of non-profit fund accounting.
- Familiarity with membership database software is a plus.
Full-time Status: Exempt – Salaried Staff Accountant
Salary Negotiable and commensurate with experience; Good benefits package
57,000 to $62,000 range, commensurate with experience. We offer good benefits that include: Healthcare and dental insurance, good vacation/PTO policy, 401k, most major holidays off along with Jewish holidays, discount to the pre-school if eligible,
