Description | Collection Event Staff (Part-Time)

Pay: $18 hourly

Schedule: Saturdays, typically 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Work Location: Buffalo, NY | Rochester, NY | Syracuse, NY

Overview: Responsible for assisting with event setup, unloading materials from vehicles, working the line, properly stacking and packing collected recycled materials, and loading the trailer (using a pallet jack and/or operating a forklift).

Qualifications:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• Be available to work Saturdays, typically 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM (March - November).
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Be reliable, organized, take initiative, and be able to give clear direction to others.
• Have/own reliable transportation.
• Be able to work in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, and heat).
• Work well with others in a team setting.

Work Environment:

• Event site locations, including but not limited to surrounding areas of Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse.
• Events are typically held outside; work in various weather, dust, and noise conditions.
• Team environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Event set up (place cones, lines, gaylords, pallets, etc.).
• Lift materials collected from residents' vehicles.
• Separate collected materials into appropriate bins, and stack and wrap collected recycled materials.
• Properly package collected materials.
• Clean up materials (broken pieces, glass, etc.).
• Load trailers for safe transport.
• Miscellaneous duties; cutting cords, breaking down boxes, replenishing supplies, etc.
• Additional responsibilities not listed above that management deem necessary for the position.
