Location: Vancouver

Hours of work: 12-hour shifts, 8-hour shifts

Shift Hours: 06:00-18:00, 08:00-16:00

Wages:

OFA2 Officer: $23.00

Supervisor: $22.00

Regular Officer: $19.50

What you'll do

Our mission at Westguard to make people feel safe. As a security professional working at the Cruise Ship Terminal at Canada Place you'll be responsible for the protection of people and assets by patrolling designated areas, identifying, and reporting safety hazards, and security concerns.

You will provide excellent customer service to our clients, guests, and cruise passengers while providing a visual security presence.

In this role, you will be working in a passenger terminal environment, supporting a large volume of cruise passengers embarking and disembarking cruise ships while supporting dock operations loading stores and provisions onto the ship. You'll be dedicated to safety and maintaining a safe work environment for all by following all protocols, processes and procedures and taking steps to eliminate and minimize hazards.

Your skills:

• Previous work experience in customer service
• Able to handle himself/herself in high pressure environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to read and write descriptive reports in English

Your qualifications:

• Valid BC Security License
• Ability to obtain Marine Transportation Security Clearance (MTSC) or Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) clearance. Westguard will sponsor and submit clearances for those who do not have them.
• OFA 1 (Paid training will be provided for those needing to obtain certification)
• OFA 2 (Paid training will be provided for those needing to obtain certification)

Signing Bonus: Candidates with a valid Full RAIC or MTSC are eligible for a $500 signing bonus after successful completion of the season and staff working 24hrs+ per week.
