Position Title: Die Assembly / Machinist / Crib Attendant – 2nd Shift

Reports to (Title): Shift Supervisor

Location: Waterford, Michigan

Basic Purpose and Objective:

• Tool Room machining of die details; new, repair, and engineering changes. Prepare cold forming die packs for next job set-up and repairs

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manually operate vertical mill (to perform/make basic tools)
• Manually operate lathe (able to perform ID/OD turning)
• ID/OD grinder
• Manual surface grinder
• Hobbing press for pressing tooling together
• Operate Sunnen hone
• Interface with colleagues to distribute items from crib and properly perform transactions in the ERP system, transacting both incoming and outgoing items to the floor

Safety:

• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Follow all safety requirements to avoid injury to self and fellow employees
• Create and maintain a safe work environment; repair and/or report non-conformances to company safety policies and guidelines
• Perform the necessary safety requirements to avoid injury to self and fellow employees

Work Environment:

• Clean, professional, well-kept manufacturing plant

Physical Demands:

• 80% of the time sitting
• Will require walking and standing as well for 10 hr. shift
• Lifting, pushing, or pulling of up to 30 lbs. regularly
• Attention to detail is required

Education and Experience Required:

• 3 years’ experience in basic machining
• Good understanding of print reading of precision tool details and assembly drawings
• Ability to read and understand part drawings
• Basic computer skills; email, Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Attention to detail
• Cold forming manufacturing environment is beneficial

Position Type/Expectations of Working Hours:

• Hourly position
• Monday through Friday, minimum 8 working hours daily
• Occasional Saturday when necessary

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $23.00 per hour
