Share Local Media, or SLM, is a rapidly growing startup reimagining the world of offline marketing for tech and e-commerce companies. We started as e-commerce marketers ourselves, and launched SLM with a goal of turning direct mail into a high performing, scalable channel for a digitally native client set. To do so, we've taken an inputs based-approach to the space, and re-engineered the channel from the ground up to make it easier to test, faster to execute, more measurable, and ultimately, more effective for e-commerce and tech clients of all types.

The role

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our agency platform team. This team provides tools and technology solutions to support our clients, internal account management, and data science teams.

The team's portfolio bridges and brings together mailfiles, customer data, USPS scan tracking, reporting, and attribution into a seamless easy to use experience.

You will be responsible for building and managing a diverse and talented engineering team, and work together with our product team to ensure that we continue to deliver and scale solutions to meet the growing demands of our clients across all four of SLM business lines. The role includes getting hands on with product planning and prioritization.

You are both a coach and an enabler for your team. Helping the team build and develop their skills and providing actionable, timely and constructive feedback.

Given the team size we expect that a successful candidate will enjoy solving problems, getting hands-on, and become an expert in our business.

The role will report currently to the Head of Product switching to the VP of Engineering once the role is filled.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead our agency experience platform team, with responsibility for managing, recruiting, hiring and nurturing top-class talent.
• Work closely with product managers and other internal stakeholders to identify opportunities and provide an engineering perspective, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide day-to-day management for your team. Coaching, mentoring and providing feedback.
• Drive technical projects and provide leadership, while also contributing technically.
• Work with our leadership to support and grow the culture of our company and the engineering team.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a Lead or Engineering Management role.
• Fluent in at least one mainstream programming language. We primarily use Ruby.
• Proven track record of building and scaling complex applications.
• Technical chops and desire to help drive architectural decisions, coding standards and processes for your team.
• Great communication skills. You should be able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.

• Base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $205,000 and is based upon experience and other factors
