Job Description
The primary role of the Student Assistant for FSCL position is to provide quality customer service to the office’s constituents and stakeholders while maintaining a high standard of special projects and office operations. The goal of this position is to give students valuable real-world experience in a real-world environment. The Student Assistant for FSCL position should work 5-15 hours per week during the current semester. Those hours may be worked in any combination, at the discretion of the direct supervisor. The Student Assistant for FSCL position must be reliable, organized, responsible, and flexible. They must also be ambitious, detail-oriented, creative, and driven.
Experience
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and minimum of one semester of college coursework successfully completed
Must be actively enrolled at Purdue University
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Flexible and dependable with a strong attention to detail
Problem solving, logic and reasoning skills
Customer service oriented
Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines
Ability to work independently and with a team
Be timely and organized
Position Responsibilities
Maintain high standard of cleanliness throughout the facility
Maintain safety and risk management standards of the department
Perform daily upkeep of supplies throughout the facility
Exhibit friendliness, diplomacy, and tact in responding to customers
Handle emergency situations and prioritize responsibilities while continuing to provide the highest level of customer service
Maintain confidentiality and exhibit professional conduct when handling sensitive information
Responsible for all scheduled shifts (based on class/exam schedules for the semester)
Must attend all scheduled staff meetings to gain and/or share pertinent information
Other duties as assigned
Preferred Experience
At least one semester as an active member of a FSCL organization
