Responsibilities
- Communicates with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave.
- Handles the FMLA leave administration process from the employee’s initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA-qualifying, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.
- Maintains reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work; relays communication between employees and their managers during leave within reason.
- Advises managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers’ compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits.
- Oversees the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers’ compensation, or other leave(s).
- Ensures weekly schedules are posted according to policy and updated as needed.
- Investigate company's staffing needs and take actions to staff accordingly.
- Effectively run reports for worked hours, approaching over time, attendance and leave availability.
- Provides excellent customer service, information, and preparation regarding policies at all team members and guests.
- Works closely with Payroll for accuracy and efficiency.
- Assists in organizing, coordinating, and supporting employee activities.
- Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
- Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Exceptional guest service skills required.
- Extensive knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws.
- Two (2) years of scheduling experience preferred.
- Two (2) years office experience and/or human resource experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Two (2) years of scheduling experience preferred.
- Must be customer service oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently.
- Ability to work in a challenging environment dealing with sensitive issues and maintain confidentially with strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving, organizational, and time management skill and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain professional, courteous, and effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and outside business contacts.
- Extensive knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, experience with HRIS database systems and scheduling systems.
Certificates, Licenses, Regulations
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A/3 gaming license from the Stillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency and Washington State.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Constantly requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication. The position requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires repetitive movement daily with sedentary work, occasional bending and crouching. This is a 24 hour, 7 days a week work operation.
