The Heart Center has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) to work as a Nurse Clinic Supervisor in Poughkeepsie, NY.

The RN Clinical Supervisor- Poughkeepsie is a working manager position, which involves thirty (30%) percent clinical and seventy (70%) administrative responsibilities in support of direct patient care for the Heart Center as part of the Heart and Vascular Institute.
- Responsible for clinical operations in the office setting.
- Oversee the selection, training, certification, scheduling, and supervision of the nursing and allied staff affiliated in the office.
- Work closely with the management team and clinical staff to assure the proper clinical pathways and operations, staffing education, utilization review, case management, quality assurance, and compliance programs are implemented.
- Provide care to the cardiology patient population served based on scope of services in the department as part of an integrated healthcare team.
Essential Responsibilities
1. Responsible for selection, orientation, supervision, discipline, evaluation and development of triage nursing and allied staff affiliated.
2. Coach and develop all team members to achieve optimal performance by consistently monitoring performance output, providing real time feedback, and securing and confirming understanding. Maintain and Model Nuvance Health Values. Ability to quickly gain the trust and respect of others, drive collaboration, build a teamwork environment, search for the win/win scenarios. Ability to lead using influence, rather than possessing direct authority over others. Ability to be sensitive, yet direct in both verbal and written communications.
3. Responsible for managing staff work schedules and for tracking time and attendance through API, approving time off requests, approving payroll and coordinating staff coverage throughout Heart Center locations.
4. Assure the proper clinical pathways and operations are in place for efficient, effective, and clinically appropriate delivery of care. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to take abstract, complex and/or technical information and break it down for a variety of audiences in a way that is meaningful for them. Issue identification, gap analysis, ability to prioritize business needs and execute solutions. 5. Assure medical equipment and supplies are in proper working order and available for clinical use 6. Assure proper utilization, case management and clinical follow ups
7. Assure proper quality assurance, certification, compliance and risk management are in place and followed by all clinical staff in all locations – visits locations a minimum of 3 times/year. JOB DESCRIPTION Developed 6/7/17 2
8. Participate in the development of and enforcement of clinical, customer service and compliance policies and procedures throughout all Cardiovascular service locations.
9. Maintains confidentially standards to all appropriate federal, state and local regulations in all patient interactions.
10. Attends and participates required meetings. Participates on committees as requested.
Other duties as assigned Clinical Provide services and treatment, which includes but is not limited to:
1. Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or chief complaint.
2. Records required medical information in chart: vitals, meds, allergies, etc.
3. Follows – up on Rx requests and authorizations for meds when needed.
4. Performs EKGs. Performs venipuncture for lab draws and IV insertion for Lasix, etc. administration as needed.
5. Familiarity with Anticoagulation Management Therapy and collaborates with the Coumadin RN Supervisor on Lab Management.
6. Responds to urgent patient situations and triages as needed.
7. Prepares charts by collecting medical records and test results from referring providers in conjunction with medical records staff.
8. Works collaboratively with staff to resolve scheduling issues or missing information.
9. Cleans exam rooms and orders supplies.
10. Evaluates clinical workflows and makes recommendations for improvements.
11. Refer to Certified Medical Assistant job description for other related duties.
12. Support in the design and implementation of solutions to identified trends or problem areas.
13. Ensure medical records are compliant with established documentation protocols, HIPPA regulations, Federal /State regulations regarding confidentiality of Protected Health Information, and corporate compliance standards. Education and
Experience Requirements:
- Associates degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory or lead role.
- Minimum of one (1) year with EMR Products/Solutions.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
- Knowledge of medical records maintenance.
- IV skills, EKG experience Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Power Point and other desktop publishing software programs
- Strong communication, relationship development and presentation skills. License, Registration, or Certification Requirements:
- Current NYS Registered Nurse License
- BLS
- PREFER: ACLS
