Part-time Behavioral Health Therapist
(LPC, LCSW or LMFT)

As a Behavioral Health professional with PIC, you will have the opportunity to support a much-needed expansion of access to mental healthcare in the Atlanta metropolitan area and beyond. In this position, you will be able to transform lives through providing supportive care and helping guide patients on a better path towards well-being. You will see patients across the lifespan of care, including diagnostic evaluations and individual therapy, both virtually through a telehealth platform and live in the clinic setting. You will practice under the direction of a supervising Physician or Non-Physician Practitioner (NPP) and have a network of practitioners and higher-level care to consult with and refer to when needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide adult patients with empathetic assessment and treatment of their behavioral health needs via our virtual telehealth platform or in-person at one of our clinics.
  • Utilize high quality evidence-based behavioral health modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and/or psychoanalysis.
  • Establish trusted professional relationships with patients for acute and longitudinal behavioral health needs.
  • Coordinate and collaborate care with patients’ primary care providers, other behavioral health professionals, and community resources as needed.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess patients’ mental and physical status based on the presenting symptoms and complaints
  • Assist in the diagnosis of psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions
  • Document patients’ social and psychiatric histories, diagnoses, treatment plans, and expected outcomes
  • Provide supportive therapy to patients utilizing evidence-based modalities such as CBT and DBT
  • Educate patients about mental health, expectations, compliance of meds, and treatment plans
  • Refer patients to appropriate practitioner if they would benefit from medication treatment, or if they have higher-level (personality and/or psychotic) disorders
  • Help provide crisis management for current patients if need arises
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including providers, nurses, front desk staff, and other support staff
  • Use strong communication, attentive listening, and customer service skills
  • Document visits timely in the electronic health record
  • Document communications with patients according to established guidelines
  • Perform all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, local and organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines (“SOPs”)
  • Contribute to the teamwork within and between departments. Regularly attend and participate in meetings with coworkers and practice staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS:

  • Highly motivated and results-oriented, with strong skills in communicating, organizing, multi-tasking and time management.
  • Strong working knowledge of evidence-based behavioral health modalities (CBT, etc.) and clinical rating scales
  • Committed to consistently providing compassionate and supportive treatment.
  • Excellent customer service skills demonstrated by positive feedback from patients/team.
  • Able to identify problems and recommend solutions to leadership.
  • Well-versed in privacy policies and maintaining the confidentiality of personal health information for all patients.
  • Adherence to the highest standards of personal and professional conduct
  • Must be able to work well collaboratively with medical, operational, and business leadership and a multidisciplinary health care team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active Georgia state medical licensure in one of the following roles (Required):
    • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • 2 years of experience in a mental health setting (Required); at least one year experience in counseling and/or therapy in a mental health setting (Required)
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
    • Master's Degree in Psychology/Counseling or Social Work (Required)
  • Experience working with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and other health IT systems (Required)
  • Experience providing counseling and/or therapy via a telehealth platform (Preferred)
  • Bilingual Spanish speaker (Preferred)
  • Reside within reasonable driving distance of a Peachtree Immediate Care clinic offering behavioral health services

Job Type: Part-Time (with potential to expand to Full-Time as program grows)

Schedule:

  • M-F hours only (no weekends)
  • Part-Time to start, with schedule based on business needs; potential to expand to Full-Time as program grows

Work Location: Onsite at a clinic-based office and/or Remote via Telehealth platform

Compensation: Both hourly pay and variable (portion of net collections)
