Patient Financial Services Representative

Description
As part of the Revenue Cycle Management team, the Patient Financial Services Representative collects client payments, initiates, and sets up payment plans, and works closely with the admissions and billing team to assist with client billing questions and needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reviews accounts to determine collection actions
Audits profiles in Lightening Step
Verifies Insurance Benefits
Contacts patients regarding outstanding co-payments, deductibles, coinsurances, etc.
Manages and monitors patient balances, collections, and payment plans
Responds and resolves patient billing questions and concerns
Communicates with insurance companies to confirm patient balances owed
Establishes payment plans
Processes patient payments and or refund requests
Meet with patients prior to discharge to submit a review and Patient Survey
Minimum Qualifications and Skills Required
1+ years of experience in Insurance
1+ years of experience working in a high call volume environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Excellent customer services skills
Expert ability to multitask and prioritize duties
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
Solution focused and ability to effectively problem solve
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma/GED
Additional Notes
Prior experience working in behavioral health preferred
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
In a 12-hour work day: standing/walking up to 12 hours per day
Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
You must have the ability to use tools and equipment required for the position
Mental Focus: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
