Production Manager
Koch’s Turkey Farms (“Koch’s”), located in the Lewistown Valley near Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, is seeking a full-time Production Manager for its second-shift operation.
Koch’s is a vertically integrated, family-owned poultry production and processing facility and is a leader in the All Natural, ABF, and Organic Poultry industry. Founded in 1939, Koch’s is in its fourth generation of family management and is a sound, rapidly growing poultry business.
The Production Manager works closely with USDA FSIS Inspectors, Animal welfare officers, Quality Control, Maintenance, and Operations Manager. The position will be responsible for ensuring on time shift start up, segregation, record keeping, productivity, GMP’s, employee safety, and food safety. This position reports to the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing up to 75 staff including team leads, operators, trimmers, and various other line positions.
- Receiving, prioritizing, segregating and completing daily production schedule.
- Collaborating with FSQA and USDA to maintain in-house and regulatory KPI’s and CCP’s
- Training and cross training new candidates.
- Continually collaborating with the Maintenance manager and maintenance team to ensure machine adjustment, temperatures, efficacy, and productivity.
- Supervising a fast-paced production line
- Promoting Safety, GMP, Ergonomics
Minimum Qualifications
- HACCP certification (preferred, but willing to train the right candidate)
- Well-versed in GMP, Poultry, Safety, and Quality (preferred, but willing to train the right candidate)
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills, flexible to changing priorities in a fast-growing industry
- Strong skills with the ability to teach, coach, and counsel staff and associates, build teamwork, and employee morale, possess good conflict resolution skills and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people with differing backgrounds and abilities
- Ability to make decisions to promote continual operations.
- High attention to detail

- Bi-lingual preferred
- Microsoft Office Suite
Minimum Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2-3 Years’ Minimum Supervisory Experience
