About the Opportunity

A David Zwirner Scrum Master/Coach leads by example. You are a professional who stays abreast of developments within the Agile Community and adapt them to David Zwirner internal needs. While you understand the theory (Kanban, Scrum, Less, Lean, etc.) you are at heart a practitioner confidently launching new teams and aiding existing teams so they may cultivate a truly agile mindset. Your end-product is high performing teams that make significant impacts to the Organization through complex, frequent, incremental, and iterative deliverables. You understand the challenges faced by Product Owners establishing a business-driven yet collaborative approach with technical team members and have provided guidance or stepped into that role when asked. You are comfortable working with teams delivering technical solutions as well as teams delivering non-technical solutions (such as Policies, Procedures, Process Changes, Training, Operations, etc.). Highly developed communication and diplomacy skills are essential in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers.

What you’ll do

  • Build and enable enduring Agile teams to execute on goals by providing tools, training, and support to help escalate and remove impediments.
  • Lead, train, and coach a scrum team on using Agile methodology and Scrum practices.
  • Support the product owner and provide education where needed.
  • Own Scrum/Kanban ceremonies and metrics.
  • Establish and Lead the scrum and Kanban teams in self-organization, establishing norms, agreements and cadence.
  • Remove impediments and coach the scrum team on removing impediments.
  • Help the product owner and development team to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Help the scrum teams achieve delivery acceleration focused on business outcomes by reaching higher levels of scrum maturity.
  • Leverage expertise to inspire shared sense of purpose within the team by focusing on the goals and method of execution.
  • Influence teams within the Risk organization and build relationships to drive a successful outcome of a project, measured by the team's performance using Agile metrics.
  • Encourage innovative ideas to help address new challenges and drive business results.
  • Utilize Design Thinking and Business Process Engineering to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define a project scope and objectives for project members.
  • Translate Waterfall methodology to Agile frameworks by mapping Waterfall roles and responsibilities, execution process, reporting and metrics to Agile.
  • Potentially engage with 2 teams concurrently.

What we would like you to have

  • 4 - 8 years of Agile practical experience.
  • Scrum, Design Thinking certification preferred, but not required.
  • Preferred knowledge and experience working in Risk, second line of defense organizations.
  • Preferred financial industry experience.
  • Ability to analyze and think quickly and to resolve conflict.
  • Team builder.
  • Knowledgeable in various Scale frameworks (Kanban, Scrum, Lean, S&S, LeSS, SAFe, Spotify, etc.).
  • Knowledgeable in techniques to fill in gaps in the Scrum. Ability to determine what is Scrum and what is not.
  • Experience with successful Agile techniques.
  • Ability to work with and lead a team.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to facilitate cross departmental change management.
  • Influencer. Change agent, and courageous.
  • Self-motivation and ability to stay focused in the middle of distraction.
  • Superior experience and knowledge in GSuite, JIRA, Confluence, Notion, Miro, Adobe Acrobat Professional.
  • Able to step in as a Product Owner when asked.

Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000
