Jacobs is seeking a Security Assistant Admin to support the NISSC II contract. Your career at Jacobs enables NISSC to fulfill its mission to “provide classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability in organizational work centers at NISSC sites.” As a member of our team, you will support corporate and customer mission to provide world-class IT services and support that connects systems and users across NORAD in the areas of software development/maintenance, network services, cyber security, systems administration, and other mission-critical areas.

Job Description

The Security Assistant Admin supports the Facility Security Officer (FSO) through the performance of administrative functions in support of national security requirements. The security team is responsible for compliance with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), Space Force, and NORAD security policies. They work with a diverse group of individuals focused on a common mission of national importance and provide solutions to challenges to assist others in the accomplishment of their duties.

Typical Duties Include:

  • The processing of requests for Common Access Cards (CAC), Restricted Area Badges (RAB) and periodic revalidation of those requests.
  • Additional duties include oversight of contract guard services, physical security requirements, in-processing/briefing of new employees, and debriefing of departing employees.

Experience Requirements:

  • Ability to work with diverse groups of individuals.
  • Ability to be a proactive and analytical problem solver.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of database operations.
  • Ability to manage large volumes of email daily.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of DISS for management of personnel security
  • Experience with Access Control Systems
  • Experience with SIMS (Security Information Management System)

Essential Functions

Physical requirements – Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and the location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required.

Work Environment - Office setting that includes sedentary physical effort. However, may include lifting weights up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary. Must be able to work well with co-workers and all levels of management. No hazards on the job or unusual environmental conditions. The work site is in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Attendance - Monday-Friday; Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility in work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.

Equipment and Machines - Standard office equipment and machines: personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.


Other Essential Functions:

Must always demonstrate professional behavior when dealing with customers, management, and co-workers. Must have clear, concise, and accurate communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to the work site is required. Travel to and from customer locations may be required to support projects. This may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, one must wear a seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when the vehicle is in motion.

Travel requirements – May be required to travel, but will be infrequent.


This position is expected to pay $60,000-$70,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
