ROLE
The Senior Accountant contributes management-level accounting expertise, supporting clients at the Senior Accountant level. The Senior Accountant is responsible for month-end closing for 5-8 clients, and to build financial packages for their portfolio each month. Senior Accountants operate as main points of contact for all client questions regarding accounting activity (from reconciliation to cash flow forecasts).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee month-end closing and all key accounting-related activities for clients - accurate and timely circulation of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and annual budgets
- Cash Flow projection (and updates) and communicating cash position to clients
- Financial package creation: Ensuring proper margin recognition, Reconciling/Recording transactions (Sales, Deferrals, Accruals, Returns, Discounts, Write-offs), Monitoring Sales Orders (wholesale), etc.
- Inventory Management including: Good understanding of Inventory, Reconciling inventory (Physical, Sub to GL), Accruals, Samples, Inventory adjustments, Obsolescence, Monitor POs, etc.
- Preparation of Budget vs. Actuals, Preparing narrative and Departmental views/meetings
- Tax operations including sales tax, facilitating requests from tax preparer, Tax firm correspondence (note: we’re not a CPA, but we do intend to assist our clients’ CPA firms)
- Internal FW operations: help build and oversee process and procedures, recruiting and interview new employees on the accounting team
QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of experience in operational accounting; 3+ years as Senior Accountant
- Financial accounting software including QBO and Xero; NetSuite experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Strong grasp of financial planning - past experience includes cash flow modeling, revenue forecasting and full cycle budgeting
- E-commerce, retail and/or CPG experience and background is required; must be comfortable working with inventory and COGS
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Proactive and client-centric attitude
- Problem solver; solutions-first mindset
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage time at the office and on-site with clients
- Knowledge of consulting business model and tools in multi-client environment
- Comfortable managing 5-8 clients per month
- A passion for leveraging systems and driving process improvements
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel
- Comfortable working 100% remotely
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
