Senior Facility Engineer
The Senior Facility Engineer will manage a 24/7 data center, using their experience and skills to ensure customer SLA requirements are maintained, and proactively prevent SLA violations. Solid communication skills are a requirement for this role. This person should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and flexibility will be key to their success. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and within groups. This position reports to Director of Operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform site inspections and supervise building alarms.
- Conduct analyses and audits of electrical systems, and lead improvements.
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs of onsite equipment including, but not limited to, Generators, lobby HVAC systems, lights, and other cost saving initiatives.
- Completion of site logs and audits for safety and EPA compliance
- Participate in equipment failure and power outage incidents and drive Root-Cause-Analysis (RCA).
- Review, approve, supervise, and complete site MOP’s.
- Aid during critical maintenance activities.
- Respond to all on-site incidents as they arise.
- Work with customers on power requirements, power audits, adhering to ECX data center policies, logistics, and cooling requirements.
- Participate in vendor, supplier, and contractor management at each site.
- Aid in creating, editing, and training local staff on sites EOP’s and SOP’s
- Provide and analyze energy-efficient solutions to improve PUE.
- Strong MEP facility management, computer literate, professional demeanor (talking with customers), professional.
- Interpret alerts/alarms from the facility, determine course of action via the playbook or Regional Director.
- Schedule preventative/ corrective maintenance and warranty work to subcontractors through EdgeOS Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
- Administer EdgeOS ticket management, creating/updating/completing work tasks according to specific work procedures.
- Administer and manage Change Control processes through EdgeOS.
- Prevent SLA violations.
- Process customer requests for logistics and Remote Hands.
- Schedule sub-contractors as required to complete work tasks.
- Manage EdgeOS ticket status for customer and internal purposes such as Remote Hands time entries.
- Upload various Field Services Reports from preventative maintenance and Remote Hands contractors into EdgeOS.

- Strong communications, both written and verbal, in leading teams and coordinating with peers and other disciplines on driving projects/issues to closure.

Experience/Education
- 2 years of professional experience in data centers, construction trades, operations, or maintenance of critical facilities (or related fields).
- Working knowledge, Building Management Systems, and safety requirements.
- Knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards.
- A natural curiosity and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and agile in manual dexterity (climb, stoop, etc.).
- Excellent communication, presentation, project management, and reporting skills.

EdgeConneX offers a competitive benefits package. The preferred pay range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000. Compensation will be finalized after consideration of the successful applicant’s prior work experience, education level and relevant education, and unique skills.
