SENIOR RFP MANAGER
POSITION SUMMARY
Sr. The Senior RFP Manager is responsible for overseeing and streamlining the Request for Proposal (RFP) process. This position will lead the entry, development and submission of high-quality proposals and prospective client/broker questionnaires, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end RFP process, ensuring timely completion and submission of high-quality proposals and new business questionnaires that align with company objectives and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, service, marketing, product, and technical experts, to gather relevant information and develop tailored, persuasive proposals.
  • Maintain and expand the RFP response database, ensuring that all content is up-to-date, accurate, and engaging.
  • Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement of new business and renewal proposal quality, efficiency, and effectiveness, leveraging analytics, customer feedback, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular proposal reviews and debriefs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Monitor and track proposal progress, ensuring that deadlines are met and providing regular updates to stakeholders. This includes setting and communicating proposal timelines, identifying potential roadblocks or delays, and proactively addressing issues as they arise.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and changes in legal and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and implement streamlined processes and procedures for managing proposal development and submission, using best practices for project management.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field or equivalent work experience required.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal management within a relevant industry such as health insurance, benefits administration or employee benefits.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing RFP processes and winning proposals.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills, being highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and RFP management software (e.g., RFPIO, InHub, Qvidian, Loopio, or similar).
