Purpose and Description

The Shop Manager / Small engine mechanic will be responsible for all aspects of troubleshooting, repair and maintenance service of a wide range of equipment that is needed to perform all landscape functions. The Equipment Mechanic will also aid in keeping the shop and yard safe and orderly.

Responsibilities/Activities

· Troubleshoot equipment accurately and repair breakdowns quickly to maintain operating efficiency

· Proven abilities in a wide range of technical skills in repairing all landscaping and construction equipment with 2-cylce engines and 4-cycle engines and other small engines including but not limited to: Mowers, Blowers, Weed Eaters, Excavators, Skid Steers

· Perform oil changes, air filter changes, belt replacements and inspect all safety devices of equipment

· Perform Preventative maintenance checks on equipment and fleet

· Perform off site repairs

· Pick up of parts from vendors

· Assist in maintaining service records for all equipment

· Maintain and organize parts as needed

· Assure that all parts go through company inventory

· Maintain Shop area, yard, and building

· Communicates with managers internally as needed in order to insure crews have proper equipment to perform task

· Insure OSHA and other regulations are followed for all equipment

· Assist Company in seasonal services provided to customers

Minimum Qualifications & Educational Requirements

· Mechanical aptitude.

· Knowledge of computer applications

· Current driver’s license.

· Must maintain regular and reliable attendance at a level acceptable to the company

· Machinery such as Mowers, Blowers, Weed Eaters, Excavators, Skid Steers

· Other equipment as needed

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Arden, NC 28704: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
