Job description
Sign Language Technical Assistant
- 30 hours per week/Unit C Paraprofessional contract/$31.19 per hour.
- Provide in classroom and other appropriate educational interpretation for hearing impaired students.
- Maintain communication with with classroom teachers and teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing.
- Assist students individually, in small groups, or in a large group, utilizing a variety of strategies and techniques to present or reinforce learning.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Trained and fluent in American Sign Language and Signed Exact English II
- Bachelor of Education degree, Special Education and Rehabilitation, Deaf Studies.
- Ability to use or willingness to learn appropriate technology
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
