Position Summary
The Facility Security Officer will assist our Sr. Security Manager and Director of Security in ensuring compliance with DoD and Intelligence Community Security Directives. Essential responsibilities and activities include but are not limited to:
- Initiating, reviewing, and processing Personnel Security Clearances and Periodic Reinvestigations.
- Submitting requests and maintaining accounts for processing SCI security clearances using the Army's Automated Contractor Automated Verification System (ACCS).
- Preparing Visit Authorization Requests (VARs).
- JPAS administrative functions including submitting visit authorization, incident reports, in-process, indoctrinate, debrief, out-process employees, submitted RRU's, and generated reports.
- Performing badging functions including for satellite offices and job sites. Processing Common Access Card (CAC), DBIDS, and other badge requests.
- Communicating Clearance status updates to Project Managers and other individuals within organization.
- Performing security briefings/debriefings (SF 312, NATO, new employees, and employee terminations etc.)
- Submitting electronic fingerprints through SWFT.
- Managing document control database for all classified material per the NISPOM and contractual requirements.
- Assisting COMSEC custodian with ensuring accountability of items. Submission of DIAS semi-annual inventory, etc.
- Reviewing employee background screening results and providing pass/fail determinations.
- Reviewing access control system and maintain employee/visitor badges and access control cards.
- Maintaining facility clearance records (SF 328, KMP list, etc.). Assisting with preparing DD254.
- Preparing for DCSA and other government inspections.
Position / Candidate Requirements
- Security Clearance Requirements: Active TS Clearance and willing to be processed for SCI eligibility.
- Education and Progressive Experience
- Master's Degree and 5-7 Years of the following experience or
- Bachelor's Degree and 7-9 Years the following experience or
- Associates Degree and 10-12 Years of the following experience or
- Required Progressive Experience:
- Security, Government or Industry Experience.
- Proficiency in JPAS, DISS, NISS, ACCS and other security databases
- Understanding of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual
- Familiarity with SIMS
- COMSEC experience
- Required Certifications: FSO Certification for Possessing Facility completion.
- Requires absolute discretion, demonstrated judgement, problem resolution skills, and a background of working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills and the ability to relay technical information to others.
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
- Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills is a plus.
- Work and Travel Requirements:
- Will be required to work at our Tyson's, VA HQ location. There is potential for the position to evolve and have some degree of workplace flexibility.
- Local Northern Virginia Travel for corporate site visits and training requirements.
