The department of Supply Chain has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Sr. Privacy Contract Specialist to work at UHealth(REMOTE). The Sr. Contract Specialist aids in the preparation and negotiation of contracts to ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and expectations. He/she provides direction and work review to assigned department staff, serves as consultant to management, and performs the more complex work associated with procurement and contracting services for the University.
Researches, reviews, and remains abreast of developments in assigned categories.
Serves as the liaison between University customers and contract vendors in order to maintain supplier relationships to fulfill current and future contract needs.
Advises on the creation of policies, procedures, and clauses to efficiently and effectively achieve procurements.
Supports modifications to contracts and conducts analysis of alternatives to, and capabilities and characteristics, of the assigned contractors.
Utilizes price and cost analysis techniques to support the development of cost-related sections of solicitation documents.
Acts as department expert on procurement and contracting issues.
Works with the legal department as needed to draft complex contracts and agreements.
Prepares bids, specifications and contractual provisions. Reviews or develops solicitation documents to ensure maximum competition.
Negotiates Business Associate Agreements (BAAs), HITECH Addendums, Patient Record Transfer Agreements and any other HIPAA related agreements on behalf of the University and the health system.
Remains abreast of applicable privacy law developments and educates the team on changes that impact operations.
Reviews and validates the legal sufficiency of Powers of Attorney and Guardianship documents.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, Juris Doctor preferred
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes
Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
